In class we will create 3-5 beautiful seasonal greeting cards. Add colorful ribbons and yarns to enhance our creations. I will be sharing how to make fabulous gifts and decor for the holidays, such as framed pictures, wrapping paper, and festive place mats for the dining table. Students are asked to bring your own glue sticks, scissors, hole punch and colored pencils for some added touches to your oil pastel works. Learn this fun, exciting, easy, technique working with a handmade template, that you are able to use over and over again! See you in class!Click here for more info and to register with TMCC/EPIC
Look at the fabulous work that the students came up with during our 2nd session together. Students worked with a pre-drawn template of a fan tail hawk and a template of the shapes of a mountain, pine tree, and sun. I always let my students choose their own favorite colors to work in and I give them ideas about composition, discussing foreground, middle ground, and background. There is also the directional flow that is really important to consider when working with a smudge. The more "Smudging" one does the better one gets. Like anything else we do in life. If you never give up, you never fail! This is what we created in the 1st Session of our May 2023 "Older American's Month" FREE ART Classes. All students were given the same template pattern and came up with their own color combinations and creations. It is exciting for me to see the variations in "smudge" styles and compositions. I am learning as much as my students what it is to LOVE a SMUDGE!This is the happy group that met in May 2023 "Older American's Month" FREE ART Classes funded in part by the Nevada Arts Council & the National Endowment for the Arts. Great fun Ladies. Thank you for joining me on this journey of creating Art with a Smudge! Let's get together again soon!Celebrating "Older Americans Month"
